4 Days 3 nights Iquitos adventure and tradition
Description
This four-day Amazon tour from Iquitos offers a complete Amazon rainforest experience. The first day includes a walk through downtown Iquitos, a boat trip on the Amazon River and a welcome at the Cumaceba Curaka Inn, followed by a night walk through the jungle. The second day begins with bird watching, a visit to a riverside dweller to see local animals and learn about the artisanal production of sugar cane juice. The third day is dedicated to fishing in the Amazon, observation of the Victoria Regia, and exploration of medicinal plants and historical trees. The last day includes a canoe excursion, free time in the hammock house, and a visit to the native Bora Bora community before returning to Iquitos.
Itinerary
Transfer from the airport or hotel. Walk through the center of the city visiting the main church, iron house, Maldonado boardwalk, historic houses from the rubber era. Transfer to the river port to board the outboard motor boat. We will navigate the Itaya River for 15 minutes and then enter the longest and largest river in the world, the Amazon, information about the Amazon, search for gray dolphins and pink whales. We will sail the Amazon to Cumaceba Curaka Inn , reception with seasonal fruit refreshments. General information. Allocation of private bungalows . Typical lunch Juane . In the afternoon walk through the jungle getting to know the flora and fauna and the biodiversity of the area. Night walk through the jungle listening to the variety of sounds emitted by batrachian insects, birds among others, canoe excursion, depending on the season. Dinner . Jungle stories told by the guide around a campfire. Night at the hostel.
Bird watching in their habitat on foot or by canoe. Breakfast . Excursion to visit a riverside dweller where we will appreciate non-venomous boa constrictors, sloth bears, turtles among others. We will also learn how to extract sugar cane juice in an artisanal way, tasting the juice and its derivatives such as cane rum, molasses. Return to the hostel . Typical fish lunch . In the afternoon visit the riverside town ''GALLITO'' to learn about some of its daily activities. Depending on the weather conditions, we will observe a wonderful sunset. Dinner . Night at the hostel.
Breakfast. Fishing on the banks of the Amazon River, catfish, piranhas among others. Observation of the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world. Return to the hostel and typical Patarashca lunch . Relaxing moment in the hammock and/or pool area. In the afternoon, we tour the area, getting to know plants and trees whose fruits are used by the rivereños, with medicinal power, we will appreciate the historic Rubber or Balata tree, Cedar, and the voluptuous Lupuna . Dinner. Night at the hostel.
Breakfast. Canoe excursion on the banks of the Amazon, observing birds, iguanas, etc. Free time to read or simply rest in our peaceful Hamacas house. Special time to take photographic views. Appropriate time for typical lunch – Cecina with Tacacho and departure to Iquitos, on the way we will visit the native Bora Bora community, customs, dialect, clothing, typical dances, it is recommended to bring objects to exchange with handmade crafts. Arrival in the city of Iquitos. Transfer to the airport or hotel. End of services.
