After lunch we continue descending for 1 more hour until we reach Rosalina beach 1550 meters above sea level. From that point we begin the 3-hour ascent by sicsac arriving at the Santa Rosa Baja camp at 2095 meters above sea level where the first night is.
The second day we wake up at 5:00 am and then we have our breakfast and continue our walk ascending for 3 hours to Marampata 2900 meters above sea level, a small town with beautiful views From that point the walk is much easier, undulating for 2 hours until you reach the Archaeological Complex of Choquequirao 3100 meters above sea level, a good time to enjoy that majestic place. Where we can see houses, terraces, squares, llamas on terraces and others, we will have approximately 4 hours to enjoy the place. And where we will also have lunch, and then return to Marampata where we will spend the night. Choquequirao is considered the cradle of gold and is also the last Inca city of Spanish resistance, it is still under excavation, only 30% of it has been discovered so far, the rest remains a mystery and covered in bushes, it is already larger than Machupicchu. Our guides will explain the history and importance of the site.
After a good breakfast, we leave Marampata and descend back to Rosalina beach for 4 hours. From that point we begin the 1-hour ascent walk to Chikiska where we will have lunch. After a delicious lunch, we will have a short break and also be able to eat or drink chicha de cambray made from sugar cane that is artisanal in the area.
In the afternoon we continue the ascent hike to the Cocamasana camp where it is the third night. We chose this camp for its beautiful sunset and the stars at night.
On the third day we also observed once again the Apurímac canyon, the Apurímac river, the lush vegetation, its flowers and fauna, orchids, birds and we passed the small settlements along the way.
A very early start in the morning after breakfast (5:00 am) we continue our ascent from Cocamasana to Capuliyoc. Today we avoid the worst of the heat in the canyon, the walk is 4 hours. Along the way we will be able to appreciate again the majestic snow-capped Pádrayoc that decorates the Apurímac Canyon. Once we arrive at the Capuliyoc viewpoint we will say goodbye to the majestic views. Our transportation will be there waiting for us for the 4 hours back to Cusco.
