Early in the morning our guided tour of the Sacred Valley will take place. We will begin the tour starting through the fertile countryside, arriving at the colonial town of Pisac, where a colorful market will welcome us. Enjoy the unique atmosphere during a typical lunch. In the afternoon, passing through the towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visited the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley and protect it from possible invasions by the tribes of the lower jungle. Transfer from the hotel to the train station towards kilometer 104, beginning of the Inca Trail, on this route of the Inca Trail we will get to know better the archaeological complex of Chachabamba 2270m., then we will ascend to the highest part of this route, where Wiñayhuayna is located 2650m. This is the most important archaeological complex within the Inca road network, after Machu Picchu park. The network of Inca roads continues towards the Puerta del Sol or Inti Punku , a place to observe Machupicchu 2400m. in all its natural charm, then we descend to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, we only pass since we must continue downhill to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu - Pueblo), where we will enjoy dinner and accommodation (entrance to the thermal baths is optional and must be paid). Reception and pick-up at the arrivals area of the Iquitos airport, where Irapay representatives will assist you and transfer you to the port where you will be embarked on one of our boats that will direct you to the Irapay Amazon Lodge through the Nanay and Momom River . The visit will be the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Garden , a magical place where we can learn about the metamorphosis process of butterflies, among the most striking that the center houses are the blue morpho butterfly and the owl butterfly. Pilpintuwasi is also an animal rescue center, one of the most striking animals being a beautiful Jaguar. Upon our return to Irapay we will have time to appreciate our first Amazonian sunset. We start the day with the bird watching excursion, appreciating how the various birds gather in search of their morning food. This excursion will begin very early with a boat transfer along the Momom River . Various species can be observed such as Orioles, Paucares , Sparrowhawks, taangers as well as the Tuki (Jacana Jacana), Ringed Kingfisher ( Ceryle-Torquata ), Black-Collared Hawk ( Busarellus nigricollis ), among others.
