- We will then visit the San Pedro Market to experience the local culture and variety of products. You’ll have the chance to purchase snacks, fresh fruit juices, and other market offerings.
- Overnight in Cusco.
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- We will pick you up from the hotel in our private vehicle to explore the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be the archaeological site of Pisaq. We will tour the agricultural terraces at the top of Mount Pisaqa, which the Incas used to cultivate crops at high altitudes. We will explore the archaeological remains, including homes, storage facilities, ceremonial centers, and the largest Inca cemetery discovered to date. Your guide will explain the religious, astronomical, and military significance of the site, and you will enjoy impressive views of the Sacred Valley.
- We will conclude the visit with a trip to the Pisac crafts market in the town, where you can find ceramics, silver jewelry, and textiles.
- Afterward, we will drive for 1 hour to Yanahuara, where we will visit a local farm. We will tour the farmlands, cut alfalfa to feed guinea pigs, and observe the chicha-making process. A private gourmet picnic lunch will follow, prepared by our local chef using organic produce, including some from our own crops. Enjoy your lunch outdoors with views of the Sacred Valley, and learn about the ingredients used in chicha, a traditional corn beer. You will have the opportunity to taste it.
- We will drive approximately 20 minutes to Ollantaytambo, known for its impressive buildings like the Temple of the Sun. This important religious, agricultural, and military center features terraces, fountains, and aqueducts. We will enjoy a guided tour of the site and the town, which is considered an Inca city.
- Overnight in Ollantaytambo.
- We will depart from Ollantaytambo, located about 5 hours of walking from the town in the area called Kachi Qhata (Salt Hill). Inti Punku is situated at approximately 4,000 meters above sea level. We will pick you up from your hotel at 5:00 AM to drive to Ollantaytambo, then cross the Vilcanota River and begin our 5-hour hike. At Inti Punku, we will explore its design and alignment with the Pleiades constellation. In Andean belief, beings who transcended life were immortalized through mummification and venerated in temples aligned with this constellation. Inti Punku was seen as a spiritual bridge between this world and the heavens. After visiting Inti Punku, we will enjoy a box lunch with stunning views of the landscape.
