El Alto Airport is currently the highest international airport in the world at 4,080 m above sea level. Transfer from the airport to the hotel along a short highway from which you have an incredible view of the La Paz valley and its lights at night.
Tiwanaku is an hour and a half (72 km) from La Paz. During the trip you pass through the Bolivian highlands, where you can see the way of life of the Aymaras . Tiwanaku was one of the oldest centers of American culture, whose dating places it on an average between 1,580 BC to 1,200 AD. It is considered one of the most developed cultures of its time. Its main constructions are: the Kalasasaya temple with its most notable work in the Puerta del Sol, the Ponce and Fraile monoliths; the Akapana pyramid and the Semi-subterranean temple . Also included in the tour are the two on-site museums, to see their work in ceramics and stone.
In the afternoon, a four-hour walk through La Paz, a city chosen as one of the 7 wonderful cities in the world, located in a valley formed at the foot of the Royal Andes mountain range at 3,632 m above sea level. Visit the area of street markets rich in crafts, fabrics and witchcraft artifacts. Also in the colonial part of the city, the church of San Francisco, Gold Museum, Plaza Murillo, the Mirador de “ Kili” Killi ” from where you have a magnificent view of the city and the replica of the Semi-subterranean temple of Tiwanaku . Then towards the modern part of the city, descending to 3,200 m to finally visit the Valley of the Moon, impressive for its whimsical formations made by erosion.

10:00 am travel south, first visiting the train cemetery, then through the plateau crossing the towns of San Cristóbal, Culpina K to the rich and high valleys of Alota (3 hours), then mountain ranges with a lot of erosion in the stone, to through high valleys to the town of Villamar (1 hour).
This will be a long day ! Early travel to enter the REA (Eduardo Abaroa Reserve), visiting Laguna Colorada, with more than 30,000 flamingos at 4,278 m (2 hours), "Sol de Mañana" geysers, Challviri lagoon with its Polques hot springs. Cross the Pampas of Dalí with impressive landscapes, until you reach Laguna Verde (3 hours), at the foot of the Licancabur mountain , return trip to Laguna Colorada, then the Siloli desert , visiting Arbol de Piedra, to finally reach Partridge Eyes (4 hours – 4,531 meters above sea level).
Travel north passing through the minor lagoons Hedionda and Cañapa , then continue east through the foothills of the mountain range to the Alota valley (3 hours). Travel north through the high plateau and the towns of San Agustín and San Juan (2 hours), entering the large salt flat in Chuvica to "Isla Incahuasi " (1 hour), a special habitat of volcanic rock and giant cacti. Then east crossing the salt flat to the town of Colchani (2 hours), where local people extract salt by hand. Enjoy the sunset, night in a salt hotel.
Transfer from Colchani to the Uyuni airport to take a return flight to La Paz. Upon arrival, meet at the airport to begin a pleasant trip by private transportation north through the Altiplano, then bordering Lake Titicaca and parallel to the Royal Andes Mountains to Copacabana (3½ hours), a pretty town in the shores of the lake. Visit to its church and famous “Virgen Morena”. Travel by boat across the Lake to Isla del Sol (1 hour), to Huacani to have an Aptapi (typical lunch of the Altiplano), then by boat to Yumani to see the stairs and the Fountain of Eternal Youth; The trip continues by boat to the ruins of the Inca temple of Pilkokaina , Walk to the La Estancia Ecolodge with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca (approximately 1 hour).
DON'T MISS A BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE! Walk along the Inca Yumani stairs to travel by boat to the north, visit the ruins of Chincana and Roca Sagrada (1 hour), Then the trip continues by boat to the island of the Moon, visit the ruins of the Inca temple of Iñak Uyu (1 hour), finally to Copacabana (½ hours) and return transportation (3 ½ hours). Cable car from El Alto city to La Paz city, the tour will be a good opportunity to discover an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz. This is a mandatory tour for every visitor to La Paz !
