Itinerary
In the morning, between 07:50 and 08:10, we will gather at hotels located in downtown Puno to commence our journey. From there, we will head to the port where our boat awaits to take us to our first stop. Around 08:20, we will embark on a boat journey to the Uros Floating Islands, a trip that will allow us to enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca for about 30 minutes.
Upon arrival at the Uros Floating Islands, we will be greeted by local inhabitants dressed in traditional costumes, who will warmly welcome us. As we explore the island, we will notice how the structures float on the water, and our guide will provide us with detailed explanations on how these islands were formed and how their inhabitants live. We will have time to take photographs and visit the homes of the locals.
Subsequently, an option to visit a second island on totora reed boats will be offered, where we can sample local dishes or purchase handicrafts. Afterwards, we will continue our journey across Lake Titicaca for approximately three hours until we reach the natural island of Amantani, where we will be welcomed by local residents. We will head to their homes to settle in and share a family lunch, an opportunity to learn more about their way of life on the island.
In the afternoon, we will ascend to the Pachatata and Pachamama temples to enjoy a panoramic view of the sunset over Lake Titicaca. Later, we will return to the main square where each family awaits us for dinner together and to participate in a traditional music and dance show. We will spend the night on the island.
After enjoying an early breakfast, we will head to the port to embark on another adventure to Taquile Island. After a journey of approximately one hour, we will arrive at the island and begin a 40-minute uphill hike to the main square. There, we can explore the textile museum and the colonial church.
We will enjoy a traditional lunch, which will include quinoa soup and fresh trout, accompanied by coca or muña tea to help combat altitude sickness. During lunch, our guide will provide information about the island's history, the clothing of its inhabitants, and their main economic activities.
After lunch, we will have free time to explore the island, take photographs, and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Titicaca. Later, we will descend to the port to board the boat back to Puno.
At approximately 03:30pm, we will arrive at the port of Puno and transfer back to downtown, where our service will conclude.
